Here's Our Story

Hi there, we’re Brian and Tia! We are first, followers of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the reason why we are able to do this ministry. We are also blessed parents of four beautiful children: Marcus, Maria, Micah, and Mercy. We have two tiny tots, a teen, and a twenty-something. We have been raising children pretty much our entire marriage and that’s been a long time (hint hint, our oldest is 25). We see the responsibility of parenting as a delightful duty from the Lord. But, we didn’t always see things quite that clearly, hence the large age gaps between our children. So we jokingly call our tiny tots, our re-dos. God is giving us a second chance to get things right this go round. Tee-hee!

Our oldest son, Marcus, and grand pup, James are missing from this photo. Hopefully, we’ll get a photo of them soon :)

The Story Behind Goodbye Workplace. Hello Family!, LLC

It all started back in 2010, when I knew God was calling me out of the workplace to care for my husband and children. At the time we had a son in the eleventh grade who wasn't doing well, and a daughter in the third grade who was begging me to home-school her. The thought of leaving my position as an Assistant Vice President, comfortable office, and salary was daunting, and to be completely honest, just plain crazy! After all, I made 3/4 of the household income.

The more I tried to suppress the call, the more burdened I became. I knew I had to do something. What, how, and when were the three main questions I had to reconcile. That's when I decided to trust the Lord and started making plans to come home. The Lord blessed me to come home on May 13, 2011. Not only was I able to come home, but most importantly, stay there. It was then that I had a paradigm shift and realized I was on to something significant. My success as an at-home-mom wasn't just happenstance or good fortune. No, it was a God-given and proven strategy I created and followed.

My first attempt to share my strategy came by way of a blog I started in 2015, called "Suits to Spit-up". I couldn't believe the interest and followers that ensued in just a short period of time. It was a lot of fun, and I loved sharing and helping other women on a daily basis. However, shortly after my blog was doing well, I realized my priorities were imbalanced. The blog began to take over. I knew right away that I was being tested and had to make sure I was staying honest and pure to what I was writing about--God and family. I made a difficult decision to temporarily put the blog on hold while I focused on the family and got life outside of the blog back on track.

Two months turned into six. Six months turned into twelve. Oddly enough, I still couldn't shake my passion to write and help other women find their way home. I would bump into women everywhere who had a desire to come home but didn't know how. I'd meet women at the grocery store in the check out lane, in the nursery, I even met one at a theme park. They all started talking to a stranger (me) about their desire to come home, but were scared due to fear and/or finances. I began wondering if I had an invisible sign somewhere on my forehead or chest that lead moms to talk to me. I'm a total magnet! These divine appointments opened up my eyes to the real need women have of needing help when making the difficult decision to come home. I also realized the sensitivity of this topic and the scant resources available to help women during one of the most critical decisions they'll face in this lifetime. In essence, my goal was to create and provide what I wish was available for me during my journey in coming home.

That is when my first book, Goodbye Workplace. Hello Family! was born. The book was a three-year project and completed when I was home for a total of seven years. I have learned so much in that time frame. I also counsel and coach women who have a desire to learn how to be satisfied in their home and those who want to come home. The resources on this website are for you. I have poured my heart and soul into the book and program to make sure the Lord is first glorified, and second to ensure you are enlightened, equipped, and encouraged to say Goodbye Workplace. Hello Family!

My husband, Brian, and I are both Founders of Goodbye Workplace. Hello Family! LLC. Brian's role is to work with husbands who are battling fear and doubt when making the decision for their wives to come home. A lot of wives are prevented from coming home due to the fear of the husband in regard to finances. Brian was in this very position himself when he also forbid me from coming home, until the Lord got a hold of his heart. We both understand first hand the obstacles that prevent moms from coming home. We've seen and experienced the Lord bless our family tremendously as we trusted Him. Now, we want to pay it forward!

We are here to help!

 What We Believe

  1. We believe the Bible is inerrant and infallible (2 Peter 1:19-21), (Psalm 19:7), (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

  2. We believe in one God existing in three persons (the Trinity): God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4), (1 Corinthians 8:4), (Genesis 1:26), (Isaiah 6:8), (Isaiah 48:16), (Matthew 3:16-17).

  3. We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God. (1 Corinthians 2:12-13), (2 Timothy 3:16-17), (2 Peter 1:21).

  4. We believe that God is holy and we are not (Isaiah 6:3), (Revelation 4:8),

  5. We believe that mankind was born into sin through a result of the fall during creation. We are naturally depraved and incapable of being good (Romans 5:12) (Psalm 14:3), (Romans 3:12) (Genesis 6:5).

  6. We believe that mankind is separated or alienated from God due to our sinful state (Ephesians 4:18), (Romans 8:8), (Psalm 66:18).

  7. We believe the only hope for sinners is to repent, believe the gospel, and be reconciled to God through the finished work of Jesus Christ who died on the cross for our sins, was buried for three days, and has raised to life and sits at the right side of God the Father in Heaven. (2 Corinthians 5:21), (Colossians 2:11-14), (2 Corinthians 5:18) (Isaiah 55:6-7).

  8. We believe that unless you repent you will perish and be eternally separated from the one living and true God (John 3:18-20), (Luke 13:5), (Romans 6:23), (Matthew 25:46).

  9. We believe in the Five Solas:

    - Sola scriptura: “Scripture alone” (2 Peter 1:20-21), (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

    - Sola fide: “faith alone” (John 3:16), (Ephesians 2:9)

    - Sola gratia: “grace alone” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

    - Solo Christo: “Christ alone” (Hebrews 4:15)

    - Soli Deo gloria: “to the glory of God alone” (1 Corinthians 10:31)

  10. We believe regeneration is a work of God through the Holy Spirit (John 3:5-8).

  11. We believe once God grants repentance and faith the new birth is clearly evident in the life of a believer through a life-long journey of progressive sanctification (2 Corinthians 5:17).
